Mr Maloke

He knows how to focus and defuse tension around him.

A loudmouth know-it-all, but very slick with his wordplay. Self-acclaimed leader.

Mr Maloke: "First there was the creature. We were cursing and swearing on the street until something like a rythm came out of it, some kind of a beat box. And when we stoped talking, the rain pattered on the roof and made this noise, which all of the sudden sound like Hip Hop, until finally the Prosetti Brothers came by and said that they want to produce us".

Wizard the Lizard

Dreams of his own laboratory.

He’s into all kinds of tricks. Even cheap tricks fascinate him a lot.

He is also into weapons.

The “Wilhelm Tell” of the crew.

MY TOP 10 ALBUMS by The Wizard (Puppetmastaz)

Max Turner -- Reflections On Liquid (Metabooty -- 2008)

Ever since we started this Puppetmastaz shit, Max Turner AKA "The Purple Pro" has been one of our biggest influences, but I've got to shout-out his newest E.P., because he just keeps getting better and better. 3-D glasses required for listening.

Ghostface -- The Pretty Toney Album (Def Jam 2004)

Ghostface not only taught me how to rap, he also taught me how to sing off-key over The Delfonics. This is the album that set him apart once and for all not only from the rest of the Wu-Tang, but from rappers in general, because it was here that we realised that Ghostface was actually Jesus.

The World Provider -- Lost illusions E.P. (TaDa -- 2006)

The World Provider is like a modern-day Canadian version of Markus. He also helped smuggle me out of Panama via Montreal and into the Berlin underground. Thank you World Provider, if you're reading this.

Ice-T -- Iceberg/Freedom of Speech (Street Knowledge -- 1989)

My first rap cassette. Ice-T was never the best rapper, and a bit too much of a know-it-all ["Besserwisser"], but the first love is the deepest.

Kevin Blechdom -- Eat My Heart Out (Chicks On Speed -- 2005)

This album is musical proof that anything is possible. I was personally present at some of the recordings and witnessed some incredible feats of elasticity never before seen in humans. Even I, a creature made of latex, could never definitively determine whether Ms. Blechdom was in fact human or puppet.

François de Roubaix -- Les plus belles musiques de film de François de Roubaix - volume 1 & 2
(Hortensia 1990)

During my days as a refugee in Montreal, I spent a lot of time at the library listening to vinyl records like "Mating Calls Of The Galapagos". And then I found François de Roubaix, the world's greatest film soundtrack composer, who spent all his time in either in the studio or underwater, looking at tropical fish.

A*Class -- Ain't No Future But Our Future (Nneon 2004)

I used to have a lot of trouble facing the idea of going back to school in September. Now I know that for the rest of my life, and my children's lives, and my children's children's children's lives, this album will be there to make studying Math feel like a 2 Live Crew video booty shake.

The Diplomats -- Diplomatic Immunity (Roc-a-fella -- 2003)

Back when the world was purple, Juelz Santana was a young Snoopy and Cam'Ron was the Oscar Wilde of gangster rap ("no homo!"). And who can forget Hell Rell's raps recorded over a prison pay phone?

Stereo Total -- Musique Automatique (Bungalow -- 2001)

When I first got to Berlin and tried to contact the notorious Puppetmastaz, this album was kind of like my passport. I used it to learn German, English, French and even Turkish--all the important languages of today's Berlin.

PFFR -- United With Doth (Birdman -- 2003)

This is a snapshot of contemporary American society as seen in retrospect by artists living in the year 2182 under the cruel dictatorship of an escaped genetic experiment. Apparently PFFR sent this album back in time to as a coded message trying to warn us of a coming viral apocalypse but, ironically, the very act of sending it back altered the course of history and actually caused the viral apocalypse. Snuggles the Bunny

He’s trying to be at different places at the same time.

He’s hard to calm down.

He’s into all momentary pleasures, especially when they have to do with nylonstockings.

Panic the Pig

Wild, totally out of control.

Known to piss everywhere and mark his territory.

Ryno

One of the RHINO Brothers.

Both are willing to protect the crew by all means necessary.

Usually quiet, so when they do speak they sound very wise.

Big Eye

From the galaxy 'Beetle-Juice' (Betelgeuse).

Once a little dumpling shaped object shot out past the riga star-cluster and hit our solar system in 1962. It hit planet Earth, opened up and released a little extra-terrestrial creature called 'Big Eye': a one-eyed blob like figga with one central leg and an extra mouth mounted where the humans have their bellybutton.

'Big Eye' approached Puppetmastaz at a rave in the 90's asking for weed. He's not a great rapper but a great a choreographer. Since then, he has been distributing his force for over 400 live shows including 2 operas. He hasn't have any contact with his former family in outer space but it doesn't seem to bother him at all.

Midi Mighty Moe

Frequently invisible, The Midi Mighty Moe could actually be merely a figment of Mr. Maloke's imagination.

The Mighty has not only inspired a famous song by the PMz, but seems to constantly inhabit the subconscious of the whole crew.

A human journalist, claiming to have interviewed this elusuive creature, quotes Moe describing his dream job: janitor at the NASA headquarters.

Buggles

The smallest creature in Puppetmastaz is young Buggles, a baby chicken from the UK. In 2007, the PMz broke into a human laboratory and freed Buggles from his cage, where he was being kept in complete darkness and injected with strains of avian flu. The liberation of Buggles is now considered as historically significant, because it launched the movement known as "The Takeover".

Buggles is a talented but deeply traumatized artist. He now forms the other half of Puppetmastaz brit-rap duo 'SQUID & BUG', along with fellow newcomer Squidrick.

Pit

Loves tools and can basically fix everything, or at least tries.

He symbolizes the artistic working guy. Usually very excited and happy.

Pit: "Freestyle is also coming from the streets of Romania. Little gypsykids freestyle for a penny on the street. Actually its about giving the thing a name. Mr Maloke, for example, comes from Crooklyn, New York, and about 140 years ago he already invented HipHop. Back then, he already knew that HipHop existed".

Turbid

Turbid is an English dandy nerd, who won the Nobel prize for a cool hovercraft bike with a water powered sports car engine.

He heard about the Puppetmastaz in an article about psychedelic rap in the Virginia Tribune. He immediately connected the crew and 2 days later, got himself a ticket from Virginia to Berlin on a boat of the the 'Crock Steam-Liner Inc.

His attitude is old-school jet-set constantly pumping geographic muscle between Cambridge, Virginia and Berlin. Turbid is one of the only puppets who like Humans. He admires them especially for their scientific research which is almost unknown in the animal and puppet universe.

Groucho

Wanted to start a political career before deciding to form a band.

Originally from a rich family from South America

Croucholina

Sister of Groucho, followed her brother to support his campaign.
Dreams of being the First Lady.

Croucholina: "Every human has the Creature Funk in oneself. You just have to stick to one thing and find it in your golden centre.
Miss Piggy is fucked. I have to go on and on dissing her. She is always on alcohol and drugs. I think she gets her drugs from Kermit or some kind of media-guy-dealers which hang around her. I mean: The oldest success is the one from yesterday, as Freddy Quinn once said".

Lisa

Very social. Always into being a part of something.

Her lisp adds to her funny character of being a unique critic of fashion and material things.

Frogga Astro

A diplomatic figure.

The wise center behind the scenes to back up the others.

The backbone of the crew.

Ricardo Prosetti

Fatherly figure.

Used to write scores for italian ‘soft.core movies’ before he heard there was more money to be made in Hip-Hop.

Beat maker of the Puppetmastaz.

Ducci Prosetti

The hype man.

He is the youngest of the Procetti brothers and the most outgoing. He also started rapping himself.

Even though he comes from Sicily as well, he cannot deny his Carribbean Roots

Dino Prosetti

Dino is quite shy. That's why there's not a lot of pictures of him.

He is also the youngest of the Prosetti brothers and his motto is: "The longer the mixing desk, the fatter the sound".

New technical gear fascinates him a lot.

e-wizz

The disembodied head of Elvis had been stored for years in F.B.I headquarters, where he was kept on ice.

The F.B.I was interested in e-wizz because he did see not only an U.F.O but Jesus himself on a highway in Kansas.

As part of an alien plot to extract information from the Elvis head, Midi Mighty Moe had himself captured in order to infiltrate the F.B.I security system. He finally managed to escape and steal the head.

HipHopnotist

HipHopnotist is from Borneo and grow up with Orangatan. He is half frog and half crocodile. HipHopnotist was abandoned by his parents and was taken in by Orangotan monkeys. There, he launched a career as a witchdoctor.

He heard about the PMs over one of the few precious radios the monkeys had on the island. He was immediately fascinated by the hiphopnotizing effect the PM beats had on him. He finally decided to join the crew in Berlin a few years later.

He is the one on uses a wired slang between gangster/an his very own slang, sounds a little weird and thinks one day he'll have a life like 50cent or P.Diddy.

Orangatan

Orangatan is also from Borneo.

He is one of the few monkey activists who saw the Puppetmastaz as a good political platform for his fight for orangotang rights across the globe.

He says the Berlin habitat is a poor vision compared to the Borneo jungle but he is willing to make that sacrifice...

Squidrick

A giant squid who was born in 1928 off the coast of Trinidad. Rick spent his formative years in the midst of the lyrically-charged bermuda triangle.

London in the swinging 60's saw Squidrick swing between Scotland Yard and the criminal underground, until he realised that he was born to do rap and therefore joined the Puppetmastaz.

It's often said that he goes regularly out to sea though, trespassing on deepsea natural resevoirs to find the finest pearls of inspiration the world has to offer.

Tango

Was born on the roof of Puppetmastaz Studio and found by Mr Mr. Maloke, while he was trying to fix the chimney. Mr. Maloke heard this bird sang in a way he never heard before and took this birdchild into his crew.

Tango's Parents actually moved in the late 70´s from Jamaica to Berlin to have a better future for the unborn child, who was waiting in the egg to see the first light in his life. But Tango decided, not to pick up trash like his parents and start singing and chatting. He´s a hyperactive bird that can´t be stopped once he has a plan. He won't give up and will see it through. He loves shiny things, especially shiny cars. So he always needs to shit on it because the car have to polish again to shine more brighter... He loves to eat sweet Abnamms, a fruit that grows on trees in France. But it is not a fruit for birds like Tango because every time he eats this kind of fruit, his throat start to itch.

Yobo

Yobo is Master Yoda's twinbrother from the far away planet Dagobar.

After George Lucas revealed the mystic world of Dagobar and the Yoda-Tribe in his movie - The Empire Strikes Back - the Yoda Tribe got quite rich. Yobo moved to California where most of the tribe still remains. But when George Lucas and Yoda signed new deals with Pepsi and McDonalds, this was too much for twinbrother Yobo. He imediatly booked a flight to Berlin to join the Puppetmastaz.

Richelieux

He loves intrigue, especially among lovers.

Originally from France, he speaks with a strong French accent.

Bloke

Listens to heavy-metal music a lot.

Doesn’t see a difference in style between hip-hop and heavy metal.

Adores everything that has to do with rock and roll culture.

Dogga Dacoda

The webmaster of the crew. Breaks any codes you can imagine.

Even though he looks a little fuzzy, he has an enormous brain.

Hammerhead

A mystical creature.

Likes to hang around the studio, and spend hours making tones and custom sound.

Sound design fascinates him.

Flix

A shephard from Translvania. The civilized world is still new to him.

He scares others with his teeth, but he is actually just a fruit bat.

He has to wear a dog collar from time to time.

Check out his session of psychoanalasis with Zigmont a.k.a. Ziggy Scandalous.

Buddah

Always in a good mood, chuckles a lot.

Usually calm and easy going, but when it’s his turn to sing he gets crazy wild.

Into health foods.
